ENVIRONMENTS AT DISC SITE

4th Biennial on Media and Architecture, Graz

At the invitation of the Medien- und Architekturbiennale Graz, Klopf developed a display for the presentation of his video Environments (1998). In doing so, he responded to the special situation in the former Thalia cinema in Graz from the 1960s. Over an existing, rotating dance stage, the artist built his own platform at seat height. Around the pedestal he placed three monitors with the video. Visitors could sit on the rotating platform with wireless headphones, listen to the net participants' narratives about their experiences with the Internet, and at the same time let their gaze wander from monitor to monitor.
