Anlässlich des 100. Geburtstages von Josephine Baker bearbeitete der exakt 50 Jahre jüngere Karl-Heinz Klopf eine oft publizierte Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie des Modells des 1927 von Adolf Loos entworfenen Josephine Baker Hauses. Es diente dem Künstler als Ausgangspunkt für eine Serie von Fotomontagen, in denen er die horizontal hell-dunkel gestreifte Fassade mit den Farben einiger seiner Hemden ersetzte.

On the occasion of Josephine Baker’s 100th birthday, Karl-Heinz Klopf, exactly 50 years her junior, edited a frequently published black-and-white photograph of the model of the Josephine Baker House designed by Adolf Loos in 1927. It served as the starting point for a series of photomontages, in which the artist replaced the horizontally striped light-dark façade with the colors of some of his shirts.
